Symbiosis+Healing=...Death?
I'm not sure if this is something that is widely known by the community or not, but chances are it is, and I'm going to be feeling stupid after I get some responses...
I was farming with my friend the other day (we were using a 4 man team of the Ritualist/Smite to farm Slaver's Exile), and he had Symbiosis up. After I finished killing the mob, my health was pretty low relative to my total HP (Somewhere around 500/2500). I also had +10 health regeneration. Anyways, I started running towards the next mob, and I got out of range from the Symbiosis spirit. When I got out of range from the spirit, my HP dropped to 1/600. Even though I had +10 regeneration, my HP wouldn't go back up. To get my health up quicker, I had one of my heros cast Signet of Devotion on me, but instead of bringing my health back up, it killed me! I have a theory about why this happened, but I just wanted to make sure. Here's my theory... When you are wielding a weapon set that gives you extra energy, such as a staff, and you cast an item spell if your energy is low enough, you HP goes into the "negatives", and stays at 0 for a while. Well, I was thinking that since my HP was fairly low when I went out of range from the spirit, my HP went into the so-called "negatives". Since it stayed at 1 for a while, despite the regeneration, I was still able to stay alive. The only thing I'm not sure about is why Signet of Devotion killed me. Please tell me if my theory is correct, and also, why Signet of Devotion killed me. |

Probably because if you were at -100 and it healed you for 80 and left you at -20 the game thinks "-20? Oops, better kill em" as the effect triggers.

Well I dunno but my guess is, Any change in your health After you are in the negatives, triggers the game to reckognize, hey, your under 0, your dead. Maybe if the healing spell would have brought it over the 0 mark it would have healed but I think any type of change in health not counting regen, but including degen, damage, or healing, and you are still under 0, triggers the games death scenario.
But it's just a theory. |

This also happened to me when i used to run droks on my warrior, i just leeroy into a mob put up endure pain just that extra bit of "staying alive" and when i ends sometimes i would be at 1/xxx and the first time it happened, i used healing signet but it killed me, it was quite funny.
But yeah, what the above poster said |

Its not a bug, its always been like that. When you had 500/2500 health and went out of the spirits range, your health went into the negatives. The only way to ensure that you dont die is to wait until your natural regen gets your health positive again. You should have just ran back into the range of Symbiosis and you would have had no problems.

There is no bug.
Any effect that changes your maximum health affects your current health, but changes to your maximum health can not lower you below 1. You lost the increase to maximum health, your current health was modified by that amount, which dropped you below zero. As long as you do not take damage or have any health degeneration, you would remain at 1 HP until natural regeneration restored that negative health. If you are healed for less than the amount required to bring you to 1 HP or more, you will instead be killed, since it is a change to your current health that results in you having less than 1 health. |

It's similar to skills that heal you automatically when you get under x% health ([[Illusion of Weakness], those two dervish ones, etc). The game doesn't check for this condition (x% health left) until your health actually takes a hit; degening under the x% won't trigger the heal.

Or just make sure your heal covers how much you are under 1. This used to happen to my Warrior all the time on Drok Runs (with Endure Pain), and the best thing to do is just let natural regen take its time.

yes, you were at negative health. skills that "add on" health like symbosis or endure pain wont kill you when they end, but they can leave you in the negatives.

Not a bug, been around for ages, not rare, easily reproducable. Death due to HP loss only occurs next time you're hp changes (heals or damage). Symbiosis dropped ur HP to WAAAAAAAAAAAAY below 1, regen hadnt cought up and u died coz of that.
